Hi All,

I've been looking a few years and just now am more serious out buying a used S2K. One just showed up at a dealer near me and I'd like your opinion.

First the good stuff:
Year 2001
Black Exterior/Interior
20,800 miles
Clean Carfax with service history
Clean and decent interior
No rips in seats, just normal wear
Drives great
No apparent leaks

Now some not so good stuff
10-15 stone chips in front with bad touch up
Unusual paint blemish where hood meets front when closed plus very small dent
Alloy rims have "spydering"
Small tera in roof on driver side about 1/2 inch (not totally through)
Roof is faded
Rear plastic window is cloudy
Two small dents on driver side (door ding or hail)
Headlight glass is foggy
Passenger side door panel might be pulling away from door at the bottom.


I'm rating the interior (A-) and the Exterior (B-) for an overall (B).
Most of this is cosmetic although I'm not sure about the roof tear.
The asking price is $17,600. This is well below any Kelly Blue Book info I can find.
Does any of this info give any of you cause for concern? Have any advise? Thoughts?

Maybe you'll find my opinions worthwhile, because I too am looking for a S2000 (AP2 specifically).

I wouldn't buy this car for two reasons:
- Exterior condition (with the faded roof and CLOUDY rear)
- ~$18k?! Low mileage yes, but holy crap that's a lot of money for a good car with less than stellar exterior.

 

Wait. Patience will yield a better example.

 

I agree, too much wrong for that price. If you're in the northern US, the best prices on verts are usually had later in the year.
