Question: What do I do in the rain? I've heard the S2k is not known for its traction in the rain and like it or not, this will be a daily driver for me and will have to contend with the rainy season coming. Just take it slow, take it easy, I presume?
you hit the nail on the head. It depends on tires as well, but I usually play it safe and stay out of vtec when it's wet. I'm rarely in that much of a hurry.

in the rain, the S is fine! with decent tread tires, and a smart driver, it will drive like any other car. and before someone says "VSA" to me, i used to own an 03, and it was more than okay in the rain. do not try to be some super crazy jdm tokyo drifter guy stuff, and you'll be fine

One more question!

I have the opportunity to buy an S from the father of my friend, but want to ask you guys a couple questions first.

The S has around 85k on it, and he will perform the 90k service before I get it.

What's a fair price for an S around 85k?

how reliable can I expect it to be with mileage this high?

He's an older gentleman and drives it nicely, says he's not twenty and certainly doesn't drive like he's twenty.

He's also a good friend, used to be somewhat of a mentor so I know he's not ripping me off or anything.

Any comments? Anything is appreciated!

Look at it this way: my accord was what 90hp? My Pulsar was probably no more than 105 hp. My Max has 190hp/205torque and is relatively quick, but it's FWD, automatic and a sedan that weighs 3,001 lbs.
Well if you compare it to those cars, then yes it is very powerful
