S2K will be Honda #7
Greeting everyone!
I'm "on the hunt" for a 2009 S2K. I think it's my mid-life crises car (38).
I'm looking for a Silver one.... do I understand correctly that in 2009, "Silverstone" replaced "Chicane" as the Silver offering?
Anyways - I think I have the bug. I downloaded the 2009 Honda S2000 Brochure today...and I definately drooled.
I'm seeing a few 2009's on Autotrader and Cars.com for $35K-ish. Seems to me that might be high, but I'm not sure how large the demand is.
OK - serious question:
Has anyone had "buyer's remorse" after getting their S2K? Does the "magic" wear-off after a while, or do folks still love the car? I had a 2007 Civic SI (Fiji Blue) for awhile - and I started regretting not buying a used BMW 3-series for the same price. I still am really drawn to BMW as of late, but LOVE the idea of having an S2K. The S2K would be the 3rd car (actualy 4th). I'm driving a 2008 Fit Sport (LOVE it!), the wife has the 2010 Odyssey Touring, and my daughter is driving a 2000 Civic LX. The S2K would be the weekend / date / breath life in car.
Anyways - any help locating a non-modified 2009 Silver S2K would be great!

I'm pretty sure Chicane replaced Silverstone.
$35k sounds kinda high but I guess an 09 is probably still a pretty "new" car and there might be a premium now that they aren't being made anymore.
My advice would be to shop around, test drive a few and keep your eyes and options open. If you're going to narrow it down to a certain color be ready to pay and travel extra to get it.
As far as "buyer's remorse" goes, there is none here! I bought my s2k a year and a half ago and it only comes out on nice days. Due to insurance restrictions it has to be parked for 3 consecutive months over the winter and its the hardest thing to lock it away and leave it sit. I enjoy it as much today as the day I drove it off the lot.

One day you'll find your s2000 and you'll feel the same way about driving it as I do
Thanks for the reply....
I've definately got the bug for the S2K, and now that I have the $$$ to buy one....it's just a matter of finding one.
I haven't seen a Silver 2009 anywhere - I'm wondering how elusive they are.....

There is a Chicane 08. Same as 09 if you aren't completely set on an 09.

I saw one a few weeks ago I think, if I find it again for you, can we be friends?
haha kidding, but really, I could have sworn I saw one on Craigslist a few weeks ago (I tend to just glance over the ads when it's silver since I've owned two silver ones already). If I do spot it again I'll be sure to send you a PM.

I'm being SUPER picky...finding a 2009 is hard enough, let-alone a Silver one.
I wish Craigslist had a nation-wide search option for cars! Autotrader, Cars.com, and as a last resort Ebay Motors...are pretty much my resources. There was a time last year that you could actually find left-over 2009's at dealerships - but back then I didn't have the money (or the lust).
