Small update guys.......my saving for an AP1 is going smoothly so far.......I am aiming for at least the 2002 model. Im noting in the 2000-2001 models the interior middle chamber has that rough "carpet" material surrounding the shifter and arm column. To those of you who own these models: does this area become a hassle to clean/collects stains/overall maintanence?

I have owned an 01 for almost 14 years now and the carpet has never been a problem but I have also never spilled anything on it. I don't think I have had to clean it once.

My MY01 carpet looks perfectly fine. I never spilt anything on it though. You can easily purchase a leather cover to protect the carpet if you wish.

Still months away from buying, I'm thinking to keep saving up this fall and winter and use my spring tax refund towards the down payment. Here's hoping I can maybe even score an AP2.......fingers crossed! =)
