the search for an AP1
Hello everyone! Obviously I'm new here, looking to get into the community and find myself a nice S2000 for a fun summer car.
I had been interested in getting a miata, but they are just not as nice and not nearly as powerful as a S2000 can be.
I'm coming from the Subaru community, I'm very community based and thats why I am here haha. I just can not afford a turbo Subaru any longer so I've gotten rid of that and now im on the search for a S2000.
The Subaru was not stock obviously, they aren't that high maintenance stock, but once you get upwards of 450whp they do get to be a hand full.
If anybody has any leads on a S2000 in the 10k-12k range in Iowa or surrounding states let me know. I'm pretty confident in the cars reliability, I mean come on its a Honda.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer, I look forward to being a part of the community!

I've had 19 cars and I can tell you this is my favorite. Just picked mine up a week ago and all I want to do is drive the damn thing!
Good luck on your search. Prices are only going to go up...
In my search, I was seeing most that are around the 10-12k range are going to have over 80-90k miles :/
Try to be patient and find a good deal, they are out there, you just have to keep searching, believe me, it's worth the wait!
Good Luck!

thank you tampabay s2k! i can not wait to get one, i will try my best to be patient and figure out a good one to get, i have no problem with a 80-90k car, that is low in my book, im used to 100k+ cars.
what i forgot to include in the first post is the main reason i posted here haha, can anyone share quick tips and major and minor problems with the cars? i havnt had time to research quite yet. but no worries, i will research extensively before buying one

If you have the funds to buy one now, patience is a virtue
Oh and welcome to one of the best community forums in the interweb. People here are generally nice and mature, S2ki has a pretty cool close knit community. When you have the chance stop by your local community in the subforums.

Just be on the lookout in Craig list for a good deal to come up. With a budget of 10-12k you can get a good s2000 if you find the right deal. Have at least 1000 bucks to put towards repairs. Good luck!
