Slowly Getting To an S, In The Meantime...
Hey everyone! Lurking for a long time and I haven't posted for a while here. I am still wanting an S in the future(hopefully near future) and I felt I wanted some new perspectives. If all goes well, I am on track to finish college in 2 years and would be able to finally get an S2000 with financial ease once I get my career job. A small concern I have is to maybe change my mind since S2000's are all getting older and miles are piling up on them each day =(. Who knows what the future will bring but my other choices until then would possibly be updated(hopefully with more power) FR-S/BRZ, 2011-up WRX STi(Not likely at this point. I want a pure sports car). An eventual 16x rotary engine new RX sports car from Mazda maybe? I know you all will say "Get the S" but I still wonder what you all will think.
The S2000 is still my top priority choice. I just feel like there is nothing else that I really really really want. I've been having dreams where I own/driving one(Not fun to wake up from). In the meantime, I am trying to keep my current car running smooth until then. It is an 2002 Spec V and I finally have some pics(Sorry can someone show me real quick how to post pics? I'll consider purchasing the membership if I have to). Thanks!

I look at the S as a second car or “collector’s” car. When I was a kid I always wanted a TR6 and/or a ’68 Stingray convertible but I now put the S in the class of those two.
Some cars will always be desirable and IMO the S 2000 is one of those.
For some it will be about the most speed or horsepower or the newest at the parking lot meet but some cars are more than that.
Get a daily driver if you can and pick an S as your “passion” car.

If all goes well and I get into the program at my college, I will be a Physical Therapist Assistant. I also may go for the Radiology Technician program, but I really want to be a physical therapist assistant. Then, if I find an S2k with less then 50k mileage......I'm getting it. I can't wait

It may get real interesting if Obama's 55mpg fleet average law hits in '17. Real cars will be unavailable for at least a long development cycle ( think 1970s).
It's also possible that gasoline prices could fall by then with growing domestic supplies.
Performance could be hard to come by without complex and expensive hybrid/battery systems.
More likely the 55mpg law will die and the Keystone PL will be approved as they were just campaign maneuvers to pin down the votes of the Greenies and make no sense economically.

Sorry but I've got an angle on the DD issue-
I have a special car that can't be replaced that provides a beautiful experience on a top down day. Every revolution should be enjoyed.
In my s2000 ( or my '86 911), cruising on the interstate or sitting in traffic is a waste of the cars life
