Default Sold my c5 vette... =(

Ok... So i sold my c5 vette. Great car by the way.

But im thinking about a 350z or an s2k.

After driving around and seeing what seemed like 100's of 350's ive decided...

I WANT A S2K!!!

What year, package, mileage is good to start off with.. I would like to mod it out
after i get one (one of the reasons i sold the vette,so much $$$$ to mod, vette tax)

I drove one for the first time today, didnt get on it, but seemed like a good ride.
was an 2001, had more miles then what i want.

thanks in advance!

dave

I'd get an '03. The 04+ have the 2.2L and a lot of subtle improvements.

If you thought the "vette tax" was high for parts, be sure you are sitting before you see what parts for an S2000 cost.

Good luck with the new ride.

Well, right off the back, i hope your not looking for similar Torque and or speeds! Its a woderful car, but you have to appriciate it for what it is and what its for 350's are nice but i dunno ill just put it like this; Its no s2000 good luck

Its always best to get the lowest mileage new car you can afford, although if I had to do it over I would get an 04-05 just because I think the 06-07 rims are hideous, the 08's are better but still not as good as the 04-05. Also theres no 'package' when it comes to the s2000, they all come with the same thing. Unless you get the CR.

Make sure you drive one before you decide to buy one, this car is the complete opposite of the vette. No torque, all the power is up top, so for day to day driving its going to feel slow if you dont take it above 6,000 rpm.

Parts are also expensive and I would say more than 50% of the aftermarket parts do nothing at all and sometimes in fact lose horsepower. All the aftermarket camshafts lose power, some exhausts will make you lose some, and an intake wont give you squat. Short of forced induction its almost impossible to get more than 20ish whp with bolt-ons...
