Default Soon to be s2000 owner!

Hey s2k forum! My parents are giving me $25k to buy an s2000 for my high school graduation present in 2 months. I have an idea of what to get but I just want to hear some of your opinions on what I'm going to say.
-2004 & up (ap2)
-either nfr or silverstone
-somewhere between 20-50k miles

I went to a honda dealership 2 days ago and test drove a Black 2007 with 39k miles on it for $24k (I loved it so much especially when the vtec kicked in), here it is
http://vistahonda.com/certified/hond...07-4883PC.html
my dad said if it was red he would've bought it on the spot for me but it was black, and he doesn't want me to complain about cleaning it all the time because my dad bought both my cousins 2 black is250s when they were living with us and they hated cleaning them every week.

So yeah, I'm also looking at this one http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/hon...da&distance=30
We might go look at it in the afternoon today, what do you guys think on all of this. BTW I'm 17, and my parents are also getting me this car for me to not join the marines, and my birthday is coming up too...

If there are any good deals around my area (LA area to Santa Barbara area), please let me know. Thanks (:

Best of luck with whatever car you choose. Be sure to stop back and let us know what you decided on.

You can get a lot better than 07 with 39K for $25K thats for sure. Since you are here in SoCal you should be aware $25K is more like $23K pre tax and fees.

I would suggest the new Si Coupe for you, but if you are set on a S2000, so be it.

For 25K you can get a sub10K mile car or a CR. Don't overpay for this car - tons of people do it and it's blatant robbery.

On the other hand congrats! Take care of the car and it will take care of you!

WOW lucky, wish my parents purchased a car for me when I graduated high school. Is this your first car? (please take care of it, don't do anything stupid, the S is going to bite you back)
Take your time searching for a S, like previously mention DO NOT over pay for this car especially at a dealer. Good Luck with graduating high school.

NA1NSXR: yes the Si is a good choice, like the new interior dash/instrument panels.

The S2000 is going to be much much harder than the Camry. Please drive safely!

I don't mean to sound condescending just because you're just graduating high school, but if you want to drive fast go out on the track. The S2000 is an excellent track car. Don't bother trying anything on the street. You won't learn anything and will get yourself or someone else hurt. I'm a novice too, and my karting instructor said, "Take it slow out there. You won't learn anything if you're in the dirt all the time."

Plus, S2000 owners already get enough attention from the wrong crowd and most people think we're just a bunch of idiot boy ricers. I'd like to prove them wrong if at all possible
