Soon-to-be South Florida owner
Hey everyone! Fort Lauderdale checking in. Here's my story...
Back in October 2014, I bought my dream car - a 1981 DeLorean DMC-12! I had the car on order since late August and was waiting for the DMC dealership to finish a few restoration items and upgrades. A couple weeks before taking delivery of the DeLorean, I visited a friend in London who had an '05 S2000. We spent a day out in the countryside outside London, zooming around some of England's wonderful B-roads. I didn't drive it, as I was a bit rusty on manual transmission and intimidated by attempting to drive a right-hand drive car, but I loved riding around in it. I recall telling my friend, "If for whatever reason things don't work out with my DeLorean, this car is #1 on my list!"
Well, fast-forward to present. My DeLorean has broken down three times, has only been running for a total of about one month out of the five I've owned it, and I've given up on it. Owning a rare, exotic, unreliable classic car is just not for me. A mid-2000's bulletproof Honda, on the other hand? Sign me up!!! I'll be getting the DeLorean sold hopefully within the next couple months, and as soon as I do, I'll be ready to buy an S2000!
Looking forward to becoming part of the community. Any South Florida owners willing to show me around their car, take me for a ride, and maybe let me take it for a spin?
