I wouldn't call the SRT-4 a POS. A smart car is a POS. It's a great car for the money and it can be made stupid fast for relatively cheap. Yes it's FWD, Yes it's still a neon and comparing it to an S2000 is apples to oranges. The S2000 is light, nimble, high-revving (torqueless) rear wheel drive canyon carver/road course machine. The SRT-4 is a front wheel drive turbo sedan with gobs of low end torque.

The S2000 is superior in build quality, handling, driver feel, looks, transmission, and reliability.

The SRT-4 is superior in acceleration and practicality.

Two very different cars. I am one of the very few who can appreciate both.

I bet you live and drive base on this video .
You failed.. This is a great example of a (slow) person srt4 vs fully built S be ready to look at the rear end

Um, no.

The SRT-4 is an poorly built POS, it really is. The build quality is terrible, what can you expect from an early 2000's American made car, and a Dodge at that?

I'd rather drive a Smartcar than an SRT4. At least the Smartcar is somewhat reliable and is more respectable than the douche-tastic SRT4. I've only ever met ONE cool SRT-4 owner, the rest have been douchebags whose 'car ego' was much larger than their in-person stature and it all reeked of small-dicked machoism.

A friend of a friend recently died here in SoCal when his SRT-4 collided with a minivan. He was killed instantly and his brother was a passenger and died an hour later. The airbags didn't even deploy and the turbo caused the car to light on fire. It was his fault for driving too fast and for having such a piece of shit car, but what do you expect? Typical SRT-4 owner, and predictable crash results for a car like that.

alright i read about half of this thread and i really thought the s2k crowd was more mature and i wasnt going to be dealing with a bunch of banter on this forum.

srt2kkid im trading my 04 big turbo for a s2k.

for those of you downing the SRT, its an AWESOME car... it stands out ALOT more than s2k's do and has alot more unique characteristics that the drivers love and other people hate. its VERY reliable, only way to **** it up is by seriously not knowing what you are doing to the car. its also VERY fast and i have no doubt that a 400hp SRT would rape shit over a 400 hp s2k. it might not beat it in the roadcourse but a SRT with coilovers would be on a s2k's tail the entire track.

THE REASON that we look at these cars is realibilty/power platform/ and price.

sorry s2k owners your cars not anymore special than our SRT's are in the eyes of the public...both these cars are realible out the ass... both are going over 200k no problems.
both these cars come with built internals and a good transmission to hold the power. (stock internals on SRT go to 500hp+ heard the same on s2k's)
both these cars are easily modified
but mostly the PRICE. the SRT's go for 8-10 with 100k+ miles and 10-14 with low miles. s2ks are going for 8-12k for ap1 and 11-15k for ap2. with the price only being a few thousand apart this car seems to the be the next step up as a upgrade in cars.

Its not an evo/sti corvette or anything special, but its unique in its own way. i like the convertable/2 seater/RWD/4 cylinder combo... but nothing beats having 4 girls in your car screaming while the external wastegate is open doing 140mph +

With that comment there, not only does it show your age and mentality, any credibility to your post goes right out the window. Sadly, now with AP1 prices dropping, alot of kids can afford one.
