Default SRT V S2K ROUND 1!

I own a 2005 ACR edition SRT4 and i loveeee it.
Put plenty of time and money (and blood and sweat)
into her. She is worth so much to me, but I am now
in FL so I was thinking convertible=good idea. It was
get a new car and cash or keep my SRT and get a bike.

I am looking at a 2001 S2k with 70xxx miles (10xxx more than my srt)
The exhaust on the s2k rattles and sounds like shit.
It has that honda sound that no offense drivers, but I HATE CIVICS.
And the tranny and clutch feel loose and ehh.

My question for you ALL is, is it worth my time?
Is your s2k reliable? What have you found to be
enjoyable and not so enjoyable? I think putting
in a full back exhaust and MAYBE getting a stock
tranny on here and racing clutch would fix the problem,
but I need input.

Thanks.

That 10-yr-old S2K has been beaten to death. Go test-drive a new S2K to give you an idea of what you want out of the car.

Wrong forum for this. Post it in the Introductions forum.

Also, the S2000 is going to feel worlds beyond an SRT-4. The SRT-4 is a cheaply made POS, the worst of the 'econobox turbos'.

And an S2000 with a good exhaust sounds beastly, I get compliments on mine all the time.

Look at a different S2000, the transmission should feel tighter than a virgin and butter smooth, and the clutch should feel great.

Here, go read this article; it should give you an idea of what a non-abused, unbroken S2000 should drive like: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/compar...da_s2000_page_6

Where in FL? Ask one of the FL s2k chapters for help finding a good deal. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=54

South FL was known for seat thefts and vandalism. Sadly, Houston is getting as bad if not worse than Miami was and that's saying a lot. Hope you have a garage or storage to prevent future thefts.

lmao SRT a POS? That's such a joke. I love my car
but South Florida + Converitble= ideal

I was thinking get a racing clutch, 3in exhaust
and that should help matters out. It's a 2001 so
I know its not brand new and I don't have $ for
a brand new one, but however I test drove an 07
a year ago and still the clutch is very clumsy if
you will. It's not stiff or responsive. That is one of
my favorite things on my car now (aside from the
amazing sound and rumbles and growls the SRT provides)

LOL right.
Well I'm willing to of course give it
a chance. I just talked to my buddy
who's a big time tuner (helped walk me
thru my shit and owns srtforums) and
he claims it wouldn't be a horrible deal.

I guess I just wanted opinions from S2k
owners and a little feel on their reliability.
