Default Starting the Hunt

Hello everyone

My wife and I are starting to look for an S2000. My current ride is a '07 MINI Cooper S as you may have determined from my username

We have owned a couple of Miata's over the years and really enjoyed them. Our '04 MSpeed was a blast, so I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the S2000. I enjoy riding my Harley for the wind in my face feeling, but the wife prefers a convert.

Probably going to be looking at '05-'07 models, so I'm just starting to research the difference between them. I stopped and looked at a real nice '05 yesterday, but it's a little too early to pull the trigger. We have a 15 yo that will be getting her restricted in January, so I have to keep my 4 seater until then

Looking forward to the hunt and gaining knowledge from this forum.

If you & your wife are driving the S, I would recommend '06-'09 models. These are the only years the S came with VSA(traction & stability control). Granted most S owners drive mostly on dry days, but you never know when you'll get stuck in the rain. VSA helped me in the rain a couple of times. Good luck in your seach for the S!

Not really. You never know with teenagers these days. I owned a nice 93 Miata (sold it 3 weeks ago, but it still parked in my garage. New owner will pick-up next weekend)

Miata Page

To cut the story short. I told my daughter that it was going to be her car. She said she did not want it. She wants a small SUV (i.e. RAV-4, CRV, etc.). Go figure.

Hello and welcome. Good luck on your hunt. 04-05's are best in my opinion of course.
