Default Surprised I haven't got on here sooner...

Hello! I am surprised I haven't got on here sooner because I bought my AP1 with around 50k miles back in April of last year. I always wanted an S2K since I test drove one on my 18th birthday at my local Honda dealer. I still remember the lease offer they had, it was $300/mo+ tax with $4999 down with a residual value at around $16kish after 36 months. Needless to say, I didn't get an S2k until last year! It's probably the 2nd most fun car I have driven and that is only because of the power difference to the 2010 370z I used to have. But I definitely like my S2k more. Top 2 cars I'd consider over the S2k is the RX7 or the Supra MK4. Which is what has brought me to the forums...
I signed up here today to research on whether I want to fully build my car or sell it for a Supra Mk4 or a RX7 FD . I feel like I'd regret selling my S2k later in life but I know I'll def regret never owning the RX7. Maybe I'll have to buy both? Time to grab a beer and spend the next 5 or so hours researching everything I want to do to the S2K.

Two make or break on selling the car or not is:
  1. I live in CA and there is no longer a CRAB turbo kit on the market. There is always the used market but a nice shinny new turbo kit would be perfect. I know Greddy and one other brand discontinued their CRAB kits but I just got some info on Greddy on the V2 CRAB kit so I am hoping for the best. This mod is number one on my list because I would hate dealing with State ref and the car needs more power for my taste. Even at 300hp is plenty for me.
  2. I want to do a full J Racing wide body kit and I want to pay a reputable body shop to install it to perfection. So looking for advice on shops and the kit itself. Or I can do a simple Spoon body kit IDK.
Any who, excited to search and connect with some of you who do have experience with body kits and the OG CARB turbo kits and among other things I'll be searching for. See you guys in the forums and perhaps at some local meets.

If you plan to modify it that much, IMHO, sell it to someone who appreciates it and get the car that you want. An RX7 would be fun.

I definitely appreciate the S2k. As I mentioned, it's been my fav car I've owned so far and I always wanted to fully build out a car and I think it's the prefect platform to do it in. My only concern is that I want to turbo it and it's hard because of CA and their shitty CARB laws. Hopefully Greddy gets their kit approved soon. But I definitely hear where you are coming from but I can assure you that I appreciate the car 110%.

The mods appears to be in line with what many other owners have done. Should be a very exciting new project.
