Cool Taking the first steps toward ownership!

I can't wait I haven't even been a passenger in an S2000 for 6 years and I test drove an AP1 when they first hit honda lots way back in '99. I don't even know anyone with an S2k and I only see 1 or 2 regular ones every now and then on my commute.

I just can't wait til 1pm Saturday! That is when I truly decide to continue my save up for an end of July purchase or to try more vehicles.... I was debating the Sti but because I plan to turbo this car (no matter what a PITA it is with DBW) I am going to let this test-drive decide!

On a side note this will be my daily driver 18 miles to and from work of nice twisty roads

Well guys I test drove a 07 NFR S2000 today and I walked out with a purchase date of 2 weeks from now omg haha.... anyone out there from NJ/PA/NY buy from VIP Honda? Great staff and really nice guys... also a finance manager that would work with me. I ended getting it for invoice even though I've heard of others happily getting theirs for less.

As I strapped into the cockpit of what I hope to be my new jet-fighter and I immediately noticed that, even though I'm 6'0 240lbs I was quite snug but confortable with the seat. The shifter.... OMG I've never felt a better gearbox!
The instrument panel, although I have seen it tons of times in photos and videos was way cooler in person. The car only had 50 miles on the odo and I was immediately in love....

Unfortunately, the dealership was on a highway and I didn't really get to test the S2k's abilities very much at all. Though, I know that anyone else who has tested it in it's short 50 mile lifespan couldn't have revved into VTEC because there is literaly no room for them to 35 mph roads all around! Anyway, I've felt my share of cars strong and weak and inbetween... I have to say even shifting at 4000 which is how high I shifted at the max; it felt pretty damn good... like a hot silhouette of a bangin girl teasing you behind a silk curtain that you can almost not wait to tear down!

I really hope that this works out but I am going to be biting my nails til Monday. Looking forward to driving it home in a week and a half. Hope to have some pics to share soon.

LOL the car had 49 miles when I got in and it's also the one I might get NFR 07 so I didn't want to VTEC it before 600... especially if I'm about to buy it but.. I don't know I'm just paranoid with all my cars. My 91 integra LS with 167k miles still runs like a sewing machine. No blow-by or oil burning *knocks on wood* I need that car to last for a while.

I did put a $500 deposit down and I'll give them the rest of my down when they get back to me today.

off topic but why the hurry to put money down? if $500 will hold it, just keep the rest of your downpayment in the bank until you pick it up. If, god forbid, something happens to the car before you pick it up, it would be preferable to only have to try to get your $500 back and not $10,000 or whatever.

Oh true I only have $500 down so far.... actually I haven't signed anything yet. My Dad is going to the dealership with me tonight and is going to help me negotiate the price a little better with the salesman. I hope to get it down to invoice price. It turned out that my original deal wasn't good enough so I had him scrap it. I'm going to be there at 7pm tonight to negotiate and sign if everything seems ok. I'm trying to get this May incentive before it's too late.
