Thanks for the comments. We are lucky to have such fun cars to choose from. Started with the Miata, on to the S2k, and now the Elise....wonder what will be next? I've driven Porsche and the like, and while they are wonderful cars in their own right, I like the raw feel of the cars I've owned. Power is no substitute for light weight imo. If I go any lighter, me thinks I'll be back on two wheels...

Enjoy the ride,

Mark

Man, I am in the same boat you're in. I've always wanted an s2000 but REALLY wanted a Lotus.

Since you've driven one you don't need to know how great of a car it is, pure race inspired, just lacks a little umf. But my strong point in getting the car is that you'll be one of a kind on the road... makes you feel like a exotic at a fraction of the cost. I've seen tons of exotics roaming around North Shore Chicago and of them the least I've seen has to have been the Lotus and Lambo.

Personally I don't mind the track like drive. My commute to work is less than 3 miles. However I am planning on going the s2000 route because two things.

1. I can get a used s2k for under $20k
2. I only want the car for 2 years max before I move into something faster that's coming out in 08. Maybe a GT-R (I can only wish).

Good luck!
