Test Drove
I just test drove the GTI, and this thing is freaking quick. The acceleration could use some more boost, as response is not as fast as I would like it.
Handed beautifully around the corners and felt very planted. I was so surprised that these cars were so damn quick!
I do not like the semi automatic, but nonetheless it was very quick and handled very nice.
It is a really hard decision for me to make, but it is either a used S, or a new GTI.
Opinions are appreciated.
Thanks

Hey I sold my 06 GTI for my S2000 and don't regret it a single bit.

I was talked into getting the GTI as it had room for friends, etc. but in reality you hardly ever drive people around and I've always loved the S2000. Don't get me wrong the GTI is an excellent car and it handles well but I couldn't get used to the damn paddles and I felt the car wasn't me. Its not a true sports car like the S2000 is and you really need to drive both to understand.
In my opinion having owned both the S2000 is a much better driver.
Don't regret the S2000 at all!

I agree, go for the S2000. You'll get more looks, and a better car. With the GTI, once you start modding the thing, it will never get traction, and it won't keep up unless you get some suspension and a new set of tires every Month. You'd be suprised how quickly 24lbs. of boost can destroy a set of tires. Take it from me, I sold my Jetta for the S2000 and haven't looked back since.
