Default Things to watch out for?

hi everyone! im sam. so im fairly young and i recently got my license. i started to get into cars and fell in love with the s2000. after saving for some time and driving around my mom's beat up honda accord , i finally have enough money to buy my own car. so i plan to get an used s2000 but after hearing alot of bad rumors about used s2000s im abit hesitant. so i was wondering is there anything specific that i should check for before purchasing a s2000? and how do i know was the car abused before? thanks alot

There is a sticky around here somewhere that explains everything to look for in a used s2000.

Good Luck Samuelx in your pursuit of purchasing an s2000. This board and community of owners is a great place to learn a lot about the S2000 and what it offers. Be sure to check the insurance rate before buying an S, its quite expensive for young drivers to get behind the wheel. One other note, the 'S' may look cool, but it is a real Jeckyl and Hyde type of car, not really suited for inexperienced drivers. There have been too many stories of experienced drivers loosing focus and putting their cars in a ditch. If you're not cautious, it will get away from you in a flash. I hope you do join the S2000 owners, but keep your first time car buying options open.

Welcome!

Don't forget that you'll need to replace tires frequently and you don't want to cheap out on them. Keep in mind the other maintenance and repair costs as well.

Same as any other used car purchase -- get it inspected.
