Default S2000 In Accidents............

I'm getting ready to buy my first s2000, I've been a member of this community for about 6 months now and I'm almost completely convinced. Only question I have is...Does anybody know how well the s2000 holds up in accidents, I'm only wondering because the car is so small that I want to make sure it's tough enough not to cave in, really I'm not to worried cause I've never been in an accident but it's better to be safe then sorry...Thanks guys

The S2000 holds up very well in accidents. I've seen pictures of S2K's that were demolished but the cockpit stayed intact. Honda did a great job of making this car as safe as possible.

Well if the Search function was working, you would find a few. But from what I have read it is quick to total, but we live through it very well. The only bad ones I have read about that have not had a good out come, the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. There have been a few that everyone was amazed at how well we were protected.

In short, I don't think that any other open top car has ever given us this much protection. It is better the other Coupes even.

I agree with the ones above. I've been a guest/owner since Feb and always check out the accident postings. All the pictures are horrific, but all the drivers walk away, some without a scratch (just sore muscles). If safety was the only thing holding you back, then buy it tomorrow.

THe most amazing I saw was the guy that hit the brakes in the middle of a corner, slid the back out and went off a cliff... rolled down the wall a few times, ended up on the roll bars, came out with only seatbelt bruises...

(there was a video of it somewhere)

What do you think will happen if S2K rolled over with hardtop on? Just curious since I have a hardtop. Will it be a hazard or offer me greater protection in a rollover? ( Hypothetical question...knocking on wood right now )

I Don't think it would make a difference either way.

I really don't know the outcome, but let's hope the driver was ok.
