I've been thinking lately about buying a used S2000. I'm looking to spend around 16-17k so I suspect I will have to look for something between a 00-02 with like 60-70k miles. I would like to get some input from current S2000 owners about what I should expect from a 4-5 year old S2000 with 60-80k miles on it. Is it a fair idea to buy in this range? Or should I look to spend a few more thousand and get something with less miles? Thanks.

 

Heck you can get a 20-40mile s2k with 16-17k dollars. for an 02. get the ap1 if you like revving...which i like. i have an ap2 and there are tradeoffs. it's easier on a day to day basis. but like i said if you like revving, get the ap1 and then change the lights and rear to look like the ap2 and you got a real sweet car. unless you like the rear of the ap1. personal preference.

Another problem I may run into is that I live in Southern Maine (The S2000 is going to be my spring/summer/fall car)... I don't normally see a lot of used S2000's around here... I know there are quite a few dealerships in NH that aren't too far away but I haven't checked them out... I don't plan to buy for atleast another few months anyway. Does anyone know of any good web sites that have mods and parts that I can look at as well? I've searched google but I've found some really crappy sites.. I want to look at sites that are reliable in terms of what they're selling and how legit their company is.

 

Quick, you'll find pointers and reviews of pretty much everything and anything regarding S2000 mods somewhere on this (s2ki.com) site. Best bets are the S2000 Talk forum and the Under the Hood forum. Also, if search is working, use the search page (right next to MyS2K at the top of this page) to look for specifics.
