Default Tiger1964 intro, and about pricing

Good evening and greetings.

It looks like we're about to start shopping for a new S2000 to add to our 'stable' of cars. This will accompany my wife's 2005 Acura RSX-S and my 1964 Sunbeam Tiger, and it will replace my 2000 Mazda Miata.

No complaints on the Miata as designed, a fun car -- and we have made suitable mods. OTOH, product quality has been iffy, and based on the RSX-S, I think I'll move to Honda if for that reason alone, even if it means adding quite a few pounds over the Miata. Further down the choice list are the Elise ($$$, plus Brit reliability and I know of what I speak) and even worse, my wife vetos getting a Morgan (more of the same) as a daily-driver.

Uh, where is the sub-forum on dealers and pricing? I'd love to know what currently folks are getting their S2000's for, so i know where I stand when I start coping with the dealers.

More to follow...

Welcome!

No such subforum exists, but this thread should be helpful for you:

Sales seem to be pretty bad right now, so prices should be low. For what it's worth, I bought an 07 last month with 17 miles on it for $28,600 + TTL.

I'm in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC.

The link supplied by CalBear07 is a helpful start... thanks!

Took a test drive Friday, did not push the car hard, I think I'm sold. Heavier than the Miata but for once I can stretch my legs out! A nice Grand Tourer...

Now that I am settling down to a S2000, what did I see that days. TWO (rare around here) Lotus Elises, one while on the test drive! Well, I'll try to forget about that.

You should be able to easily buy a S2000 for 28k-29k before TTL.

Too many acronyms... TTL= Tax, tags & Lisence? If so, how about transportation/freight?

A couple of minutes ago, saw in another topic about Honda incentives ending at the end of July ($2000), wondering if I'm really SOL if I don't jump in the next few days -- bummer. Sadly, I really need a wee bit of time to dispose of my Miata.

What a conundrum...

Thanks, all, for listening.

And what is "CR"?

I expect to do that... I'm planning on keeping up with my local Miata club, once I buy my Miata-wannabe as well as the local S2000 cadre.
