Trading my IS300 for an s2k!
I am doing a straight trade with a friend, my 2001 IS300 for his 2001 s2k. He's a family man now and needs the extra room. I am super excited to go from sedan to sports car.
Anyway, I test drove the car and noticed noises from the rear. But only at low speeds driving around the neighborhood with the top down. Is the differential about to go out? It sounds like whirring, but not as loud as the youtube videos of differential noises.

Tires? Remember you are sitting about an inch from everything in that that car, with the soft top up or down it is noisy. The Lexus has a bunch of acoustic absorbing stuff going on too.
Just enjoy the car, drive it around, smile a bunch.... It's a honda, it'll be fine.

Congrats on the trade. I would pay attention to the noises, see if they get worse. It could be a slight diff whine. I would drain the diff fluid and change it. While you have the old fluid out, see if you notice any chunks or fragments of metal in the fluid.
Congrats. I think an IS300 and an S2000 would be my ideal two car garage. Why the trade if you don't mind me asking??? The S is quite noisy if you are really concerned meet up with a few locals here on the forums and they might ride along to let you know what is normal or abnormal. Post pics when you get the S.
