S2000 is a good choice, I also love MR2's especially your gen. The S2 can take boost well as it has forged internals. Im partial to modifying my own cars and not buying somebody else's work but that's just my personal preference.

The 3rd gen mr2 will always be a car I would love to mod. I've always loved that body style and when those cars are modified right they can be fast and look very sexy.

I'm against buying a used turbo s2000. I think it would be better to buy a stock one and turbo it. You don't want someone's headaches and problems, especially when the car didn't come from the factory with a turbo.

Good luck with your decision, you have alot to think about and welcome to the site

I agree with Frank. I would buy a stock S2000 in the best condition possible for your budget. One of the fun things of owning a S2000 is being able to modify it to your personal taste. It's always nice to get to know the car in the stock form so when you modify, you'll be able to feel the difference. Good luck in your search for the S. By the way, I've always liked the MR2.(especially the turbo)

I'd avoid buying a turbo'd car...you turbo a car for one reason...to beat on it. If it was poorly built, nothing but trouble. I can't speak for the deal you're looking at, but it's my opinion to move away from aftermarket turbo cars.

To answer your next question, it is tough to value these cars...look at autotrader, its all over the map right now.
