What Do You Think Of This Price?

I don't trust edmunds.com, et al, invoice figures of $31,009-$31,604, but if they are true, then the dealer is getting factory incentives . . . that's how they can afford to go that low.
Thanks.

P.S. So, can they reset odometer readings or not? Anybody know?

25% off of sticker? That puts the car at $25,687. You're telling me they got almost ten thousand dollars of profit in that little car? I don't believe it's possible.
Thanks.

this usually can be negotiated when paying full in cash, or its a crappy car no one buys. end of the month is the time to buy cars that have been on the lot too long.
I was told yesterday by a Honda salesman that Honda just announced a factory to dealer incentive of $2000.
Invoice is $31,604 minus the $2000 = $29,604 dealer cost for the car. Dealer still makes holdback money, usually 3% of MSRP.
$29,949 is a very good deal, my deal is at $30,740. Trying to get to $30,000.

There's about a 5% factory holdback that the dealer gets with each sale.
So if 5% is the number, the dealer can sell at cost and still make approx. $1500.
Not all cars are 5% though and I don't really know what the holdback is for an S2000.

I'm dealing on a new 2007 model.
The one thing I'm irrationally fussy about is miles on a new car, so the reading on the odometer would be a make or break factor. I'll be checking odometer readings before buying.
Is there any way that dealers can monkey with an odometer reading

Your probably right I was just guessing towards the high end.
My understanding is that it ranges between 2-5% and possible other factory incentives given the dealer.
I think there is also a cumulative payback by the Corp. for units sold per month/quarterly etc.
