Default Wind turbulence and noise- what's the truth

Hi, I'm considering the S2K and would love to know from owners who have had other drop tops how the rate the S2k top down driving re noise and wind to other verts they have had or have driven.

Thanks and you're all very lucky to have such a special machine.

In cabin turbulence is fairly equal to other convertibles at low to moderate speeds. You can maintain relative civility at high speeds with the windows up. Improves gas mileage as well.

It's all part of the effect....wind in your hair, you know?

I suggest that you test drive the car yourself and decide on your own what is acceptable to you. What others consider low or high may not be the same as your own level of tolerance. Also because each of us is a different height (and we sit differently in the car), the effect of wind on our hair will be different. Good luck.

You will be better off test driving the car and formulating your own opinion. I thinks its all part of the top down experience. I will tell you, its hard to talk on the cell with the top down, and if your gf is talking in the passanger seat...your NOT driving fast enough.

Enjoy!

From a wind turbulence/noise point of view - I've driven top down in a few other convertibles (Miata, Z3, Z4) for extended periods and the S2000 compares reasonably well. My impressions are that the S2000 is a little quieter and less turbulent with the top down than the Miata and the Z3 and about equal with the Z4.

Basically, I was happy enough with the top down experience to buy the S2000. When you're driving around town at speeds below 45 - 55MPH it's very comfortable and the wind in the cabin isn't much of a factor. Of course, on the highway around 70-80MPH there's a lot of wind but it's not as bad as you might think. You can still have a conversation with your passenger without having to shout at one another.

Hope this helps.

not any noisier than being in the shower,
so its kinda soothing for me at hwy speeds.

honestly the noise is kinda relative and subjective.
regardless, you'll get used to it

I haven't driven other verts but when I first drove the s2k I was surprised that there was less wind turbulence than I had expected. Even if you're not happy with the amount of turbulence in the car, you still have some options. 2 weeks after I bought mine, I bought a pair of plastic headrest wind blockers from ricks2k, and that cut down on the wind turbulence a lot. I have yet to try the extended windscreen that he sells, but I hear that that helps too.
