Smile The worst buying experience ever for my s2k

i bought me 2002 s2000 with 65k sebring silver with all red interior at BRICKELL HONDA. i bought mine there like 3 weeks ago and it was the worst experience of my entire life. i agreed i wanted to buy the car and the salesman called me the net day to come pick up the car. so i took my old tag from my boosted civic that just sits in the driveway and brang it with me. keep in mind i live in boca and i drove from glades and 95 all the way to brickell. far as hell. so i get there with my buddy mike whose also on the forums here and has the same car, year, color, and interior, we take a look at the car. the guy told me he car faxed it and there arent any accidents. so i asked to see it and then it turns out it hit a guard rail "minor damage." so then my buddy mike noticed that there were some shitty h-rated tires on the back. so we complained about this asking to change the tires or lower the price even more. and they said no. and we were like how are you going to sell a car from a fuggin honda dealership with tires that are underrated for the car!?!? they were asking 17,900. i got it for 15,9000. i agrred to the 15,900 casue the manager himself verbally told me that the car was a honda certified with the 7 year 100,000 warranty. then an hour oor so later he tells me no its not certified!! wtf!!! but the car also had two rips in the top about an inch long from the bars on the top. then as the storry goes on they said i would be taking the car home and then they say i cant casue i gotta wait for somebull shit. so we faught with the managers all day adn argued with them all day. so i tried to get the dealer fee waived and thay said no cause they washed the car changed the oil and rotated the tires. how the **** do u rotate the tires on an s2000!!!??? lol. so i left that day and came back a week later when they called me to come pick up the car again. so i went down there alll the way down there again an hour sum drive and problems again with the bastards. they said some bullshit was going on with the banks and stuff which was understandable. so they tried ****in with me and made the payments out of control so i wound up walking out of the place. i sat in my moms car waiting for my 2500 deposit check nad then the finance guy carlos comes out nad said he would lower the price monthly and also give me a 3 yr warranty bumper to bumper and gap insurance. so i was like **** alright lets do it. so i left happy as can be with my s2k!! but it gets worst. i had the car 2 daysss.. 2 whooping days and the rear diff just totally locks up on me in 1st gear at like 10mph!!! i called the dealer and they towed it back. they did fix it but it was bllshit having the car two days and it did that. so overall it was the worst experience ever but it was well worth it cuz i love my s2k!!!

It sounds like you're young and have not yet learned how to deal with bad car dealerships and bad car deals. You just walk away from them.

For the future, there is a local South Florida forum, and we're appy to give recommendations on dealers that have better reputations.

Please tell us that they replaced the top, tires and gave you an extended warrantee. If not, then yes, it was a terrible car buying experience, and you will have to deal with the top at some point soon ... and they are not inexepnsive.

It may be possible that if the differential was serviced, they used the wrong differential fluid. Some inexperienced mechanics at Honda dealers have been known to use the diff fluid for CRVs in the S2000 since the correct fluid is typically not stocked in the parts department.

I would have walked away from this and kept shopping, but as long as you're happy then enjoy it.

If you don't have the card/sticker with the code in the owner's manual, you need the serial number on the headunit to give to the dealer. This might require a trip back there (which I'm sure you don't want at this point). If you don't have the code in your manual, just consider going aftermarket.

(Run a search for "Radio Code" also as you will get more info. reading through those threads)

Sorry you had to make the "hour sum drive" which you described as being "far as hell" for a bad deal. I drove from Gainesville to Columbus, GA; a 4 1/2 hour drive (close to 5), twice.
