Default Is it worth it to buy the spoilers?

The rear spoiler looks a tad ricey (for an almost stock car from the outside), but does it really work? Can you feel it on a highway cruise @ 75mph?

(picture linked from www.hardtopguy.com ... hope it's not violating any copyright laws ... )

From just looking at the picture, it feels like it works better than the one that just sits on top of the 3rd brake light ... that one doesn't look like it does anything.

Also, what about the front lip for AP2 bumpers? Does it help in terms of giving a bit of downforce?

Thanks.

My impression from most people is that the rear wing is a cosmetic mod.

I wouldn't put a spoiler on ANY car unless I planned to dedicate the car to racing.

I do like the front lip and side strakes though.

Just had the oem lip and 'small ' spoiler installed. Definitely felt the difference at 90mph on a wet, twisty road. Nothing major, but there's less lift in the rear. On the downside wind noise in the cabin has increased marginally.

If the factory rear spoiler doesn't function too well, are there any aftermarket ones that do? (besides those massive wings that go really high and look really funny on a relatively stock car ... like the wing that Amuse's S2000 has)

Thanks.

Adding anything the rear of the car is going to affect drag/downforce to a certain degree. The audi TT's a case in point - that tiny rear spoiler was added to help solve the 1st gen's handling problems. I'm sure that wings of the 'massive' variety do their job, but they kinda spoil the looks of the car. For something a bit more subtle check out the mugen spoilers.

Also, keep in mind, you need to drill 4 holes in your trunk to secure it. If you install it & change your mind, you will need to have the holes fixed and the trunk repainted.

Or get it fixed on with windscreen sealer
