So I went on a very nice drive through the mountains yesterday. It felt great to drive with elevation changes and tight corners. The lack of torque in these cars makes climbing mountains very painful. I am really missing the turbo right now. Going down the mountain is fine, going up them...not so much. Acceleration was almost nonexistent. There are so many mountain roads to drive, I have a feeling I will put close to 20k on the car this year. One week in and I have already done over 1200 miles

Just signed up for my first HPDE event through NASA. It is next weekend at AMP. I am really excited. I don't know if it is the dust on the road surface or the fact that my rear tires have not been heat cycled, but they are not having any luck keeping traction. The rear kicks out a lot easier than it did with the last set.
My parent's RZR 1000 lost compression a few weeks ago. I will be spending this weekend in the garage tearing the block down and rebuilding it with a 1063cc big bore kit. The shop wanted $2700 to rebuild to oem specifications. Big bore kit was $995 and a new fuel management unit will be around $400. I need to become a RZR mechanic. They are very popular out here and the shops charge more per hour than BMW.

I got an offer for the 911 R today..,.
Dear Mr Fabio DeMarco,
It is the reminder of a lost childhood. It smells of gasoline, of asphalt, of the race track. It can tell you tales of historic races, of victories and records, of naturally aspirated engines and manual transmissions, of red stripes and of the Porsche logo on its side.
The Porsche 911 R was built specifically for motor racing in 1967. Now it is back – in a limited edition of just 991 vehicles. The new 911 R.
The large-displacement naturally aspirated flat-six engine sits right at the back of the new 911 R. Its high-performance powertrain delivers an impressive maximum engine speed of 8,800 rpm. With its 4-liter displacement, it delivers 500 hp, corresponding to an output of 125 hp per liter. Maximum torque is 339 lb.-ft at 6,250 rpm.
We hope you enjoy reading about this and further news from Porsche,

All of the sudden, there are older GTRs popping up in Jax. Today, I saw two black R32s. Last week, I saw what I'm 99% sure was a silver R33. And over a month ago, I saw a dark blue or purple R33. Who knows how the R33s got here (25 year law). Anyone know any of the owners?
RZR work sucks. I see why they charge so much. I predicted about 40 labor hours from start to finish. I did about 7 today and I am just at the point of taking the cams out. Have to verify ring clearances tomorrow.
