A good time for a refresher on this for new and returning folks:

Just thought I'd share this site, launched just 2 weeks ago by Blount Co. Sheriff's Office: Dragon Awareness It gives safety tips, statistics and all-around good info for Dragon visitors new and old. Please share with anyone you know that visits the area, this is the kind of awareness we've been wanting to spread [/QUOTE]

If it's your first time at the Dragon, it's important that you have Ken and Gene run you through so they can analyze your driving and help you avoid being potentially wreck less. Two of the Jersey guys that were in my beginner group last year wrecked later in the trip because they never listened to what Ken had to say about etiquette and driving habits.

Stop trying to scare me on my first trip to the famed "Dragon"!

I thought you went a few years ago Taylor?

Manny can tell you first hand- don't go with all seasons, stock brake pads, old contaminated brake fluid and try to compete with the big boys.

I recommend anyone that plans to go, if they haven't pushed their car to the point of knowing their limit, should attend the march autocross to help familiarize themselves with how the car operates at elevated levels (hot tires, hot brakes, fatigue, concentration, ect)

Also: MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE
Have fairly new fluids: engine, transmission, differential, clutch and brake fluid. Check the coolant level and pay close attention to tire tread levels.

I just stick with the vintage coffee/donut crowd. I can drive barefoot and enjoy the scenery. Who's coming with me besides the gold fish?

I know my limits but I'll still run with the first timers as the terrain in very unfamiliar.
