The clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder?
Apparently both of them went out. Honda wants like $600 to replace the two, and I don't have the money, so I just ordered the parts (which came to $165 shipped for both) and I'm planning on installing them both.
My dad will be up this weekend, he apparently has the specialty tool for the cotter pin on the master cylinder. From what I hear, that's the only hard part of the job. Has anybody here tackled this before? How difficult is it?

I swapped out a few ap2 slaves to the ap1 slave. ( if anyone has a ap2 I recommend this swap ) The slave is easy. under 30 min.

Yeah thanks, I saw that xviper DIY, which is what inspired me to tackle this thing. I've never owned a manual before I got the S, so I've never had to do this before. And I know xviper knows a ton about mechanic work, so just b/c he can do something doesn't mean I can . . . .
I've done pretty much everything else besides internal engine or tranny work (even though I currently pay for oil changes -- homeowner's association is on my back), so I know a decent amount, but I've never worked on any part of a transmission or clutch system so I don't want to F it up.
The part that really worried me is that the clutch engagement point might switch afterwards. I don't really understand how to adjust it w/ the rod/nut in the master cylinder, and I don't want to mess anything up there. The system was bled two days ago, and now the engagement point is pretty much as soon as the pedal moves. So I would like that to change back to where it was (in the middle somewhere), but not sure I want to tackle it myself.
Which reminds me -- Honda of the Avenues (who diagnosed the problem) were really cool and they bled the system for free while it was getting brake work done, since I couldnt' afford to pay them for the master cylinder/slave cylinder job too. So props to them, I know none of the s2ki people work there currently but they are still taking care of us so that is really cool.

True but you have us!! There are people in JAX that can disassemble an entire S2000 with nothing more than a combo wrench and a can of WD. j/k - but seriously
Are you positive that both of those NEED to be replaced? Seems very unlikely that they are both bad at the same time. I guess if you bought the parts you might as well install them.
Are you saying the engagement point changed after HOA bled the system? If so the new cylinders will likely correct the problem.
BTW - I bet Jeremy could hook you up with a Honda Tech that could do the work on the side for you. You know Jeremy, right?

I know Jeremy, I heard he moved to Cali though? Either way, I'm not sure if this is difficult enough, or enough of a pain, that I should pay someone else to do it. It seems like about 1-2 hours of work, most of which is bleeding the system.

I was checking out some other threads and it seems that everybody who does the master cylinder ends up either disassembling the slave cylinder and regreasing it/polishing it, or just replacing it. I don't have time to take it apart Friday (my graduation is Saturday) and I don't have a dremel to polish the nipple, so I thought it was best to just trust HOA and replace it.
