I have done a clutch on jackstands. It is not the most convenient, but it gets the job done (just takes longer). Next time I do it I will use truck jack stands and my wood blocks to get it higher.

If you want to help tackle the job with me when the time comes I'm not opposed to giving you the $$$ than someone I don't know.

Welcome, congrats, and most of us do our own maintenance. Lots of knowledge here if you need help.

Ive done one on jackstands too. Its not bad at all just gotta get it high enough as said. I may be changing mine soon too. Not so sure its the clutch though. It only slips after changing gears 2nd-3rd, 3rd-4th at high revs, and not every time.. Clutch is the oem with about 45k on it and i only have bolt ons. Its been doing this since I put it in with 26k and the disc, pp and flywheel looked great. Any idears?

I'm going to be replacing the clutch and flywheel soon and I'd prefer to do it myself, but I do not want to tackle that job on jackstands. I'll be forced to let someone get their dirty hands on my baby. I honestly don't know where I'd go in Jacksonville for this type of service, a ride down in the Orlando area may be necessary (I've heard some pretty good things about one particular garage with s2k knowledge).

The Jacksonville group is very welcoming so feel free to come to a meet.
I've done it on jack stands in many cars, including the s. it's not that bad.

Welcome!

I've never had any major service done on any S2K I've owned but I've had good experience with World Imports. They are good at alignments and tires...and I'd trust them with oil changes.

If I needed a clutch/trans/diff service or motor work done I'd be in line at Mase's shop. http://maseengineering.com/services/

AP1 or AP2? I have a similar situation with my AP2, doesn't always slip but here and there it will on high RPM shifts. Mostly 1st-2nd shift or 2nd-3rd. It's not the CDV, so doing some research I found that the extremely heavy ap2 flywheel matched with the same OEM pressure plates don't allow enough grip which will cause the slip.

^ You guys need to remove your CDV. I had Josh do mine on my Ap2. Another thing you can do is replace it also.
