Ok cool cool. i want something pretty close to stock offset. I don't want my rims sticking out the tire, or have to roll anything. Not for this being my first set anyways.
Good call Derek. I kinds glazed over the thread after a few posts, I guess that comes from all the offset threads I read a few years ago when I got my Blitz wheels to see if they would fit.
I think the best thing I got out of the whole search is that some people will always say a wheel can't fit, and some will try anyway. The people that try can usually get it to fit (sometimes w/ a lot of work).
Work can make them specifically for the S2000 normally. I've had 2 sets of Work rims on my nearly 10-year old S over the years with the current Work Meister S2r's in burnt black, 18's, being on there for the last about 7 years. You definitely want the correct offsets and proper stagger. Offsets are critical IMO. I had some rims before joining s2ki a bit after getting the S (see s2ki age for time frame). I was sold some rims by Sun Tire off Atlantic. They were way the F off and looked goofy. I don't have any pictures of that setup in my albums but I know there's a collage of old S pics my wife did years ago in the S-garage at the house. Lord it was embarrasing. Do your homework upfront on all mods and you'll always be happy. That is a big reason why I keep paying to be a member each year without hesitation. It used to be free back in the day but I figure I at least save $50/year in less aggravation and/or discounts on products. You can find anything on s2ki.
Best of luck,
Shay

But i love the Work Vs-x rims!
The Work site (English version) used to have where you selected the car you had and then it would provide what rims (17' and 18') they had for the S2000. Offsets and everything listed. Again...then you know you're set on the offsets for the S.
Not sure of the newer rims but my Works are heavy as a ton of bricks compared to some I've picked up over the years including OEM. Not a concern in my case because I only used them on the track once and will never do that again. They are bling for cruising around in my case. Track days I have two sets of AP1s - one with S02s the other with some Yokie R-compounds.
Best of luck and good job on your research. Smart man and the time you put in upfront wil save you money and heartache down the road.
BTW - When I got mine I had them shipped directly from the CA distributor. I can't remember the name off hand and just checked my Outlook and it's not in there. Then again, I didn't have a BlackBerry that far back so that probably explains it. I believe VVS in the Tampa Area may be able to help in this regard or at least used to. I've bought from him before (Fujitsobo exhaust) and met several times. Top notch.
Oh if you're looking for Works and need some offset help, there's a guy in Orlando that specializes in Work wheels. He's also an offset genius -- if you just want a safe setup there's not much to say, pretty much anybody can tell you what you need, but if you want to fit some aggressive wheels, talk to him.
His name on here was rijosowcky or something, I think he's changed it since then though. . . .
Ok cool! Im waiting on kami speed. I might as well just pay for what i really want, cause ill be waiting for ever to see some one else selling them. So hopefully monday ill have some good news.
