actually that would have been better advise to give to derek since he deems in necessary to change something on the car every two weeks

I see you didn't dismount the tire. I thought it would cause damage to the rim (warping) but I guess its only on a 3 piece wheel?
so is this project to reverse mount or just painting or both?

Yes. This does damage or warp the wheel. I did a lot of research first.

I'm painting and polishing them.
