i think i will go with gears VS Reflash...

i still think with the vtec window set lower you do get that insane torque but thats also added engine stress.

I think with the rear end you will get the same kick down low actually from idle to redline, and if you need aditional kick then the Vtec @ 5600rpm is just the right spot. This way your not banging on the Vtec all the time and reduce engine load.

thats how i see things...

OVER KILL!!!!

Header, and Gears would be ideal because you will scream up the RPM very fast with a 4.57. The hondata gives you that massive torque down low thats all it's good for. You don't gain any HP it only generates torque @ 4K. with the Gears you would rev up to your V-tec Range quick. Not to mention when you are racing every time you grab for a gear it drops 2K rpm from 8K so it's always @ the sweet spot.

IF it was dropping below the sweet spot then i would push the hondata reflash.

I would like to see 2 cars race
both 06
both with headers
1 reflash
1 with gears

lets see how they compare.

Personally I would go for 4.77s, 4.57s, or 4.44s. (whatever you desire) They won't affect your engine reliability like the reflash might It is not a difficult instal for a skilled mechanic.

Why would the reflash effect the reliability?

I am no expert but I don't see how VTEC constantly kicking in at 4200 RPMs would be healthy for your engine in the long run. IMO that is much too early. I feel the s2000 engines are great engines and should be left to run the way Honda intended them to. Previous to my '06 I had a '03 with 4.77s and 1.5way L.S.D. and I felt that they were to 2 of the best mods for the $$.
