Default adjustable ball joints

Not sure if this is the correct forum, anyways.

I've been searching for a fix to my alignment issue from lowering the car. Looks as SPC ball joints are the way to go. I'm looking for advice from current or past users of these and any problems found. Where is the best place to buy? LTB motorsports has them the cheapest at 100 dollars per joint. I've never heard of this distributor before though. I heard NAPA and a few other parts stores carry SPC. I work at a car dealership and usually can get a nice discount. So if you have ever seen SPC in a store, post which one.

One more question for you all. I have a bent rear wheel and I'm wearing tires like it's nothing. The rear toe is a little softer than spec at +.05 in. Camber is in a lot with one side at -2.5 and the other at -1.6 and I'm still wearing the tire on the outside. Would suspension parts be the best place to start or a wheel to fix my problem. I plan on getting both within the next two weeks.

Thanks,
David

If any of the S2Ki dealers carry these ball joints please shoot me a PM.

Don't know where I saw it but Rob.ok documented an incident with them resulting in severely damaged suspension. The facts were hard to dispute.

I don't know why you asked this question in the JDM forum, maybe the suspension forum would give you better advice.

First, fix the wheel. That's just a safety thing, let alone a suspension tuning issue.

-1.6 is not a lot of camber, it just depends on how you drive it. If you're still wearing out the outside first, then you don't need less camber, you either need more camber or you need to not turn as hard

I'm very interested as I have a set of these particular ball joints sat at home for my suspension overhaul. Don't want to fit them if there are known issues. Waited long enough for them as it was!

Quick search found these two links:

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry16409176

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...&#entry16792301 (this entire thread has some interesting info on the design flaw)

Rob.ok said (in first link):

"The front isn't so much a problem as the rear is but I'm pretty sure that the suspension can go in to a mechanically locking situation when using the SPC ball joints. They raise the upper control arm but the ball joint is limited in its range of motion. As the suspension compress the angle of the upper control arm could be so severe that it mechanically locks making it feel like the suspension is bottoming out before it should."

So just to clarify - are the j's items available all round, front & back?

if so i'll gladly pay more for a different part - i just bought the spc's as i am planning to run larger wheels and don't want to risk ruining the car with problems like those discussed in the other threads
