Default advans: cast, forged? lightweight?

i was checking on wheelweights.net and it seems that the advans run a little heavy and are cast.

is that right?

more specifically looking at the racing version 2

Yep, Ver. 2 is cast and extremely heavy, but a beautifull wheel nonetheless.

I went the TE37 route, when I found out the Ver. 2 weight in excess of 24 lb in size 18".

i talked to dickson from AJR..he said the advan rs are cast and are only 16 pounds for the 17 inch..

apparently their known for making cast wheels or something like that!?!?

advan rs are soooo nice...i want them..i wish you get get a polished lip on them though.

yea i think advan makes some awesome wheels. i was picking between 5 wheels. three of which were advans.

i think ssr type c's will work tho, 13 and 15 lbs for 17x7.5 and 17x8.5

I had Mike at Evasive throw an Advan RGII on the scale when I was there picking up some parts and it weighed in at just over 16 lbs for the 8.5" X 17". That's pretty light for a cast wheel IMHO.

I just reread this thread and saw that you were talking about the ver. 2. My bad, I'll leave the weights of the RGII up anyway.

weights for the rgII are helpful also, i have a handfull of wheels i was picking from

rgII
rs
ver2
rpf1
vs-fx
ssr type c.

i think for the most part, the rpf1 (custom powdercoated) or the ssr type c will suit my needs best. the rpf1's are around 15lbs in both the 17x8 and 17x9, and they're inexpensive.

7.5 in front. 8 in rear. It was the suggested size for s2000.
