I was wondering if it would be good idea to block off the insides of the bumper support bar (like with clay or something) just ouside the width of the snorkel. This might prevent rammed air from diverting away from the air box. Plug the leak, so to speak.

the thing I am concerned is if the ALEX duct does not line up with the opening of the Mugen intake. It sits lower on the front bumper.

Sorry for the delay.

I understood that your air path between the new scoop and the air cleaner was being blocked by the support bar. You mentioned drilling hole(s) through the support bar to allow a path for air to flow through these new into you air cleaner. Is that correct?

If so, then the ram air, slightly pressurized by the scoop, should be forced w/o leaks into the air cleaner. But the support bar has leaks (its just a C channel open at both ends and the bottom). So to block off these leaks would require sealing off the air path from these leaks.

I thought putting some clay or something like that under the support bar to block off the leaks on the side might help. All this assumes that you are trying to force (ram) air into the air cleaner box (otherwise why add the scoop).

I wish I could sketch or draw this up, it would be very easy to see what I'm talking about on a drawing.
