Amuse vs J's
i bet if the heat bluing was absent, the welds would look virtually identical. titanium is such a touchy metal to weld, usually any that is done is good quality and craftsmanship.
you mentioned one uses better ti alloy...i assume you mean it is more ti vs. aluminum and vanadium. what is the ratio?

i have to say this is kinda lame. it really depends on the point of view of the fabricator. i know many japanese, i speak japanese, and am versed in their culture. they are very prideful, and do very nice work, as is apparent by the exhausts shown here. im pretty sure that rather its machine, or human, the welds are left on the J's for a reason. it is a *look* garage look. i personally like it over the welds being poilished off, as though amuse wasnt proud of how they looked. this is my POV. so you see, there is no reason to do a semi bash comparo. they are both extremely nice pieces. each suits a particular demographic. and if you wanna get down to it, ive seen more problems with broken and rattling amuse than anything, BUT they have also been on the road longer, so more units are out there.
if you wanna start bashing, bash on people like toda, and mugen, for making stainless exhausts, and charging titanium prices
lame. From my personal experience, amuse products do have better quality than J's. J's type S bumper fits not so well while the amuse R1 is almost a perfect fit.
It's been my experience that J's products are less concerned with fit and finish and more concerned with performance. I have no doubt that J's products perform well, but I have had my share of customers that have called me with dissapointed reactions to their fit and finish.
Amuse charges quite a bit more money, but my impression is that the performance is equivalent and somtimes better than J's, but that their attention to detail and quality is unmatched. The extra money IMO goes towards quality and fit...neither is a more right or wrong choice, it all depends on what you're looking for in a product.
To be honest, I make more profit selling J's than I do Amuse, but I'm quicker to recommend Amuse to my customers than J's becuase my Amuse customers always end up happier in the end. After the product is sold, feedback is much stronger for Amuse than J's, it always has been for me and my customers.
Just my experiences from dealing both products over the past few years...take it for what you will...
