i have to say this is kinda lame. it really depends on the point of view of the fabricator. i know many japanese, i speak japanese, and am versed in their culture. they are very prideful, and do very nice work, as is apparent by the exhausts shown here. im pretty sure that rather its machine, or human, the welds are left on the J's for a reason. it is a *look* garage look. i personally like it over the welds being poilished off, as though amuse wasnt proud of how they looked. this is my POV. so you see, there is no reason to do a semi bash comparo. they are both extremely nice pieces. each suits a particular demographic.
and if you wanna get down to it, ive seen more problems with broken and rattling amuse than anything, BUT they have also been on the road longer, so more units are out there.

if you wanna start bashing, bash on people like toda, and mugen, for making stainless exhausts, and charging titanium prices lame.
it is true that the Japanese have a great deal of pride in their work

however,

who mentioned that the exhausts are manufactured in Japan? Japanese manufacturing is extremely expensive and many of their products are made at other locations.
This has a direct influence on the tolerance and quality control of the done at the manufacturing facility as well.

In my personal experience, J's quality is poor compared to other brands such as Mugen or Amuse.

I cant speak for the Js production, but the Amuse is certianly made in Japan. Im pretty sure Js is made in Japan also, but not 100% certian with proof.

And yes, the Amuse straight pipes are sick...they are so light that when put in a cardboard box people think the box is empty. I handed a customer one a few months back and he just started laughing...it doesnt seem real that it could be that light.

J's made their exhaust more towards the racing style while Amuse lean towards the street style. No Doubt Amuse has better craftmanship so I think they deserve to be more expensive.

Just a comparison in price:

Amuse R1 Titan w/resonator 178000yen vs J's 60RS 98000yen = 80000yen difference. ( I think about $800 difference. correct me if I am wrong)

Amuse R1000 158000yen vs J's 70RR 128000yen = 30000yen difference. ( I think $300 difference ? Correct me if I am wrong again.)

Pirce higer = better quality ? Price lower = less better quality ?

Also, I really like to see the performance between the two, so that we can justify which one is better after we have discussed craftmanship vs craftmanship. Does anyone here has a dynoplot of the R1 Titan or R1000 ?

My Js 70mm racing exhaust blew a hole at the 2ndary O2 sensor. Ben did send me a section of pipe w a new 02 bung but I had to have it rewelded. The welder wasn't too impressed by the welds on the rest of the pipe.

Looks like Amuse gets the nod in this one.
