i would assume a standard ECU can handle an additional 0.2CR increase as long as good high octane fuel is used.

What is the advantage to the change in compression ratio on a NA engine? Does this compression increase yield decent performance gains?

Spoon claims 6 horses for theirs, if J's is a little higher then I assume something over 6 bhp, wrench time's the killer though to fit that, I got the spoon gasket waiting and I'm thnking.......

Energetic - I don't know if the Knock sensor is on or off, can I tell without killing my engine? Also how do you know if the rev limiter is there?? I got the ECU used so I'm not sure.

To answer your questions on High Compession on the stock motor I can tell you guys what I was able to do. Before I put my Itbs on I ran my car on the stock ecu. This is with my race motor ( 12.0:1) CR pstons. On 2.1L motor, and full race head. I was using the stock intake tho. I can tell you the stock ecu (02) does very well to control things. I ran my car all out on the dragon trail with rpms from 5-9k for 11 miles or so in turns and during different loads and the car works just fine. In my case, the car felt very good even on the stock computer. Since your ecu using knock sensor it will pull out timing if the engine is knocking. I would think the stock ecu has some type of adaptation so it will make up for the compression. So for anything under 12.0:1 you can run the stock ecu but the car will be pulled back a bit since the stock ecu is having to work at correcting something it wasnt programed for. All in all I would at least have a wideband in your car. My case might be differnt because of all the internal coatings, oversized valves and other things that might have been able to let my car run ok on the stock ecu. Like always a wideband is needed, and dont be afraid to invest in you if you are gona start messing arond with Compression and fuel numbers.
