Default Apexi N1 Evolution

Hey guys

Really considering the Apexi N1 Evolution coilovers right now.

They will cost around 2900 NZD landed and I will be the only guy with an S2K in New Zealand to have it

On the other hand, I can get the Tein Mono Flex for around 2000 NZD or cheaper landed but could get some cusco bracing with it for around 2700 NZD ish.

Basically comes down to, do I want awesome circuit type coilovers and some bragging rights and the exclusivity of it all...

OR

Get the Mono Flex and reinforce the crap out of the chassis with all the cusco goodies.

I'm not really looking into tracking the car much because its a daily driver but I'd rather spend money on suspension parts where i can get more fun out of the car than spending on the exhaust and header combo.

Heres the link for the..

Tein Mono Flex: http://www.tein.co.jp/e/products/mono_flex.html

Whats your opinions?

Go for the Mono Flex and get the EDFC.

Hmmm...

To me the EDFC just looks more like a gimmick for those that are too lazy to pop their bonnet and set the coilover by hand.

For the money to buy the EDFC I could probably get some cusco goodies which I feel might do more good for the handling.

Anyone can prove me wrong here?

If you have to choose, go with the Apexi. The Tein Flex coilovers have a bad habit of failing very early, I've seen a few fail after 20k miles on cars that were dropped low. They (the Tein Flexs) are a very cheap coliover, the bottom of the line from Tein in terms of coilovers for the S2000 -- the damping on the shocks sucks and the springs are very high to compensate, so they are not comfortable at all on the S2000 and will wear out quickly.

The Cusco bracing will do very little in terms of actual performance.

I just ordered Tein Mono Flexes from Steve@Evolution. No EDFC right now, but I'll consider it in the future. Saves me the hassle of trying to adjust the settings when it's dark outside, ie mountain driving Heres a link to one of the UK guy's review of the Mono Flex: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...0&#entry9671168

Have you tried adjusting the driver side rear?

I loved my EDFC for about 2 weeks. And now, it just sits there, and I never adjust it. It's a wonderful tool and makes your life a lot easier when you're trying to tune it up to your personal driving style. But once that's done, it's pretty useless.
