Apexi N1 Evolution
I loved my EDFC for about 2 weeks. And now, it just sits there, and I never adjust it. It's a wonderful tool and makes your life a lot easier when you're trying to tune it up to your personal driving style. But once that's done, it's pretty useless.
I'm not going to be seriously tracking the car anyway so paying around 200 dollars more for an EDFC that I will occasionally use is a bit of a waste to me
Just had a chance to slightly try out the Apex'i N1 coilovers at Streets of Willowsprings, and I must say they feel pretty nice. Granted that car was the only modded s2k I have been in but overall it felt pretty good, even on track settings.
It might have been the US A'PEX-i N1 Type EXV Damper (http://importtuninggarage.com/an1daexvhos2.html) or possibly the Pros.

I agree that the EDFC tends to be a gimmick/toy on other cars, but it really is almost a godsend for the s2k.
Tein makes some very nice coilovers, it really just determines what price range you feel comfortable with -- I have heard very nice reviews of their Type RA and Type RS setups (although I have no personal experience with either), and their top-of-the-line stuff is extremely good. Their Type Flex and Super Street though, sadly, are not.
I feel too tired to look up the exchange rate (it is about 4 am here right now) but here you can buy a Type Flex kit for around US$1200, and you can buy a Type RA for around $1500 ... maybe it would be worth it to step up to one of their better models if you really value the EDFC? It would seem more practical to me to do this, and then maybe get a discount from a retailer on buying the coilovers + EDFC, or buying the EDFC used even.
