Default ASM radiator pannel problem

So i decided to install my ASM radiator pannel tonight, and now my hood wont latch shut.

I tried moving the pannel around, making sure everything is aligned properly, but it still wont latch.

Do i have to adjust the hood latch itself?

Make sure everything is bolted down then you might have to adjust the latch itself. No biggy. I had to too.

How do you adjust the latch though Chris?

Like what am I trying to do with it. I would assume I have to raise it?

There should be 2-3 10mm bolts below the actual latch (in the hole). It's prob. easier w/o the panel on though. Loosen them up and start with small increments up or down and you'll figure it out rather quickly.

Ok, i loosened the three bolts and raised the latch up about a .5mm. When the hood is shut, it is still flush with my bumper. Everything fits fine with the pannel now.

My next question is, even though the hood is secured, is their a chance it will pop open while driving if i hit a bump since i moved the latch?

Nope. Just be sure to tighten those bolts back down. I had to raise mine up on my car almost a 1/8" to get the hood to close without forcing it. I'm pretty sure my car was in an accident prev. and the owners traded it shortly after. Oh well. Glad it worked.

you raised it .5mm? or 5mm? .5mm seems like a tiny amount to me

Don't worry about it, I also had to raise my hood latch and no problems here.
