Don't worry about it, I also had to raise my hood latch and no problems here.

That was what I did as well.

One of the issues with the JDM cooling plates is the hood cable retaining clips from the under side of the upper radiator support. Since the JDM hood cables are routed from the opposite side of the car, the provisions in most cooling plates are on the wrong side.

I know this is an issue with the Cusco ones because that is what we carry. I haven't had to adjust the hood latch to get it to fit when you push the clips down/out of their holes. The hood cable is not going to go anywhere, and the cooling plate sits flush with no issues.

I would suggest trying this, it may help with the fitment. I know it does for the Cusco plates, they fit great when you do this.

so your saying leave the latch alone and just let the hood release cable sway free?

That is what I've done and it works fine.

How do you adjust the latch though Chris?

Like what am I trying to do with it. I would assume I have to raise it?
You just have to play with it for like 20-30 minutes to get it to line up as perfectly as you can get it. It may take longer but will work.

PM me for specific problems and I will address them for you.

There are two rubber knobs up front around the panel that can be screwed up or down by hand.

Just twist them down some more and see if this works.

I did this after I installed my Carbing panel and the hood closes just like it did before.

I had to raise my hood latch a bit when I installed my ASM radiator plate as well.
