Well i got it repaired. Shop ended up using a bottle style resonator instead of the larger ones. It has a different tone now. Throaty through the rev range. Not sure if i will keep it this way or try a larger resonator. Or sell it
Do you know which resonator was used? I am considering using a Vibrant Performance or 1320 Performance "ultra quiet" resonator. I would like to retain the original characteristics of the exhaust as much as possible.
I got my SS repaired a few years ago and the repaired welds broke off again. When you cut it open, make sure they lay down a solid bead across the pipe and not just tack it again. The tacks will break. Also buy some fiber glass packing - when we cut mine open, it almost looked like half the packing was blown out.
