I've had 2 different diff's in my S2k now:
-Cusco mechanical 1.5 way.....JUNK! Loud, Clunky, Chattery.....and needed adjustment to get the slippage right....wore tires out fast and uneven.....worthless.....a total drifter diff.....locks immediately under any throttle....don't buy it unless its a drift ONLY car!
-ATS Carbon 2way......Awesome!! Totally silent under any speed.....as quiet as stock...Huge grip difference at speed from the Cusco and stocker....rear end just stays planted under hard corner accelateration.....and high RPM brakeing is where it really shines.....car pulls down and stays straight as and arrow....i love everything except changeing the oil every 2k miles(messy job)......i just run regular 80w90 gear oil with a GM additive
rioja......I garentee you don't have a Carbo diff installed.....if you paid for a Cabon then you got ripped off.....Carbon's are totally silent.....everthing you described above is what mechanical diffs do and Carbonetics does sell them for cheaper price than the carbon on carbon units.

I also got some reports back from my customers that the ATS carbon LSD they bought from me did not make any noise. They are using ATS fluids.
