I can't comment on the apex'i gt spec, but I had an apex'i n1 spec on my n/t eclipse and it was pretty loud while cruising but it was crazy loud at wot. Luckily though it came with a silencer so that kept the db's down. I did get pulled over for my exhaust, an anal cop, about 1 year and a half after I had my exhaust. That was without the silencer and I was going speed limit. I had to get my exhaust db tested to prove that it was legal. I wanted to make sure that I passed the test, so I tested it with the silencer on. If I recall it was under 90dbs with the silencer. Not sure what it would've been without it, would've cost more money to get it tested without the silencer.
Would you happen to know the DB level with the silencer out at (let's say 5000RPM). If, with the silencer, it was under 90DB Then that's less than stock. (Stock 91.3DB......I think). If the GT spec has a lower DB level than the N1, I should be good.

Sorry I don't know the DB levels at that rpm level. I had the exhaust on my N/T eclipse so it was pretty loud. However, it did get somewhat quieter with higher rpms, that is unless you go WOT. If I can remember, the "quiet" zone while cruising on my eclipse was around 3.5-4.5k, somewhere around there. Anything before and after got pretty loud. My redline was 7k so that kinda gives you an idea. That is pretty much how it was with both the silencer in and out. For sure, with the silencer, you'll be under the legal DB limit, so you'll be good.

cusco - Lack of power on aftermarket exhausts? Several 70mm singles have shown to make over 10hp on an otherwise stock car. The more breathing mods you add, the more the exhaust helps. My 3" made 12hp without a tune. With a tune, I have no doubt I could get 15-17whp from just an exhaust. On a car like this, I will take all the hp I can get.

the gt spec is not loud at all with the silencer, i find that the tone is deeper then the n1, but it is just as loud if not louder imo

Wow... 12whp without a tune... is everything else stock?

If you have no doubt that you could get 15-17whp from just an exhaust, you should market that. It would put all the exhaust companies out of business for the S2000.

Let's see some dyno sheets to back this up.

With a tune and breathing mods I could see that gain, but without I just dont see someone making that much power.

My AP2 made more power with the cat installed then with the Test Pipe without any tuning (I also had a header and 70mm exhaust on the carwhen we dyno'd). You have an AP1 with an older ECU, so the results may be different, but I dont think they would be that different.

I wouldn't mind having the GT Spec exhaust if it wasn't so angled out the back.

LOL I love the angled look.
The angle adds like 15Hp......YO!

(But seriously, I DO really like the angled look)

I have the GT spec on mine....
Quiet, not raspy, but once I open up it gets pretty loud. Not crazy but enough.

Gains dont feel to crazy just in topend a little, but now going to get tuned in 1 month since I just put on headers and CAI.

I'll post up once done.
