CF questions?!
all the carbon creations and extreme dimension parts that i have seen in person fit like crap
only not authentic cf parts i would buy is seibon, and they aren't even 100%.
IMO buying cf for this car is just for the bling. you can save weight in so many other areas.
by a rear diffusor if you want carbon, at least its functional

First of all the hard top isn't Mugen if you're getting that along with other stuff for 4,000.
The term fittment issues is misleading. There aren't a ton of parts that you can slap on the car without *some* adjustment. Even OEM fenders are made so that they can be adjusted to fit slight variances in the body lines. Even high quality JDM parts may require some adjustment. Where you do have to draw the line is certain parts (namely the cheaper carbon knocoffs) will NEVER fit correctly no matter how much adjustment you do. That is what you have to worry about.
Lastly, fiv0, is your J's hood authentic? I've owned both of the J's hoods and the older style hood seemed to be equal in weight to the stock hood (maybe a tad lighter).
And Guedo512, the fact is he probably is buying the carbon for the bling, but I think making a blanket statement about buying CF for this car is unfair. Perhaps he wants to run a bigger brake setup or wider wheels up front (hence requiring wider fenders), or perhaps he wants to cool the engine bay better or eliminate downforce robbing high-pressure zones under the hood (requiring a vented hood) or wants to remove the soft top to save weight (thus requiring a hard top). If any of those are the case and you have to buy parts, why not have them made out of carbon and save a couple of pounds of weight (or add as little wieght as possible) to the car while you're at it?

Fiv0s hood is authentic and I had both as well and can tell you first hand that both the Type V hood and Type S hood is a little heavier than stock..
Both hoods required some time to get them to fit properly.

Odd, from feel alone I'd say the were at least the same. Unless you had them on a scale I guess we just percieve the weight differently
If I have my Type V off the car this winter at some point I'll put on an a scale along with my stocker and see.
I don't have my Type S anymore (sold it) so I can't weigh that one. (I'm assuming here that your Type V was the CFRP / FRP version like mine and not the CFRP/CFRP version).
But yes both hoods did require a bit of adjustment to make them fit perfectly. That was my point, there is always a little adjustment, just that with some of the knock off stuff, no amount of adjustment will ever make it fit as well

Yeah get them weighed. I am going to keep my NSX hood stock... Black with black wheels, slammed to the ground..

CF doors should save considerable weight. Does anyone have an idea how much?
