I am just planning for the future, after I get a couple more bolts ons and a tune. I was thinking of getting cooling mods. I know they are great for the car. I heard about a hondata IM gasket. and all kinds of reviews for it. Also, radiator, hoses, fans, etc.
you can bypass the TB for cheap, just go to a hardware store and find a connector to connect the hoses coming in and out of the TB, viola!
Also, the Samco hoses are sweet ... I have a set I'm waiting to install right now, they look a lot better than stock and are supposed to help lower the water temps, plus they don't wear out and look show-quality good. For the price, I would pick up a set and just do it at the same time, since if you decide you want them in the future, you have to drain your coolant system again.
If you guys want to keep things cool then get some kind of insulation wrap for the intake pipe that radiates heat away, wrap the header with the stuff to keep the heat inside the piping and not into the engine bay, and do the same for the coolant lines. And if you want to be hardcore about it, get non insulated black paint inside the engine crankcase and top of the head to help dissipate heat from the oil and add an oil cooler to use oil to help cool the engine instead of having the coolant do all the work.
As for the vents, As long as it isn't letting cold air into the engine bay right on top of the header then it will be fine, but if they are cooling the header off, that's a big no no.
