how many people have fitment issues with the carbing plate. i dont want to buy the TI plate because its $$. i just dont want a product that rubs on the hood or fits poorly. what do you think?
I have the CF Carbing plate and it fits perfectly, super-easy to install. I'll see if I can get some pics up sometime this week.

I have the coastal metal cooling plate. It is a simple small piece of steel that is held only by the bumber screws. It is very heavy and is powder coated black. However, it seems a bit harder to close the hood but that has never bothered me. Fit is good and is definitely a great alternative compared to the others. But if I were to do it all over again, I'd rather just buy a JDM one.

ENERGETIC said that water temps were reduced by 4-5 degrees C.Would this be under racing conditions or during daily driving? Being conservative lets just say that it reduces Water temp by 30degrees F. if this is true then would it also reduce engine and therefore intake manifold temps by similar temps? It makes sense in theory but if this is true it would definatley offer an improvment in performance, and i think that more members would have this piece. what do you guys think about this? thanks

I think he must have meant 3-4 degrees fahrenheit. They couldn't make such a difference to cool water temps 30+ degrees F, as they only direct more air into the radiator, right?

this is from aj racing.
J's Racing has tested, by using this cooling plate the water tempuratures dropped by 3 degrees celcius and the intake tempurature also decreased. Recommended for high performance driving or circuit usuage.
energetic claimed 4-5, they claim 3.

Since the water running through the intake manifold would be cooler, I would assume it would help cool the mani a little more.... I would assume that the faster you are driving, the more this would benefit your cooling system (ramming more air through), so I would assume that AJ-R tested this under racing conditions -- I find it hard to belive that idling in traffic this would lower your water temps at all. But not only does this help with high-speed cooling, it looks fantastic -- esp. if you have an intake to match....

What is the differnce between this and the stock piece?
I'm getting the J's plate regardless of benefits, as I don't want to cut my stock one for the intake I'm getting, but I didn't think they were all that different from the stock plastic thing that sits there.

The car does not have a cooling plate from the factory.
