Default Cusco floor bar weight...

I have noticed that some people claim the Cusco floor bar is much heavier than the ASM one, even saying that the ASM one weights in at 15-20lbs and the Cusco is a minimum of 35lbs.

I just pulled the Cusco one off the shelf and weighted it. I removed it from the box (which weights 6lbs in itself) and left all the packaging. It was the 3 bars, bubble wrap, plastic bands and the hardware (nuts and bolts). It was 17.6lbs on our scale that we use to ship everything with.

Just wanted to clear up some misconceptions on the weight of the Cusco floor bar. I have no idea how much the ASM one weights, but based off of the pictures and other comments, I would say the same.

Thanks for looking.

I just installed an ASM ladder bar on my car over the weekend with Idontwait (another member). He has the cusco floor bar mounted on his S. Out of the two (which look almost identicle other than color) the ASM bars are defenitely lighter (we did not weight them though). Tommy (Idontwait) was thinking the ASM is roughly half the weight of the Cusco piece.

Maybe its not half the weight (we did not use a scale), but I can assure you they do not weight the same.

Just updating this thread, based on info from the "asm catch can thread" the Cusco bar is made of steel (I think thats what cusco said) and the ASM seems to be Alluminum (since magnets wont stick to it).

being the to materials are much different in weight I think its safe to say the two parts do not weigh the same, but the Cusco piece should be stronger and better about wear and tear.

With the price I paid for the ASM peice I will def post if it bends, so far so good, but it has not seen a canyon or track yet

This is correct, the Cusco ones are steel. Thanks for the great input!
